The best way to read and understand a work originally written in a language you don't know is to have at least 2 different translations and for every translation have at least 3 pissed-off fans who think it sucks and will eagerly tell you about all the nuance in the original the translation failed to capture.
#me kicking my feet listening to ppl complain about the bnha official translations#also me putting the 7seas and exr translations of mdzs next to e/o and studying them like i'm a lawyer doing a cross-examination#i'm not saying this is the most ENJOYABLE way to do it.#just the one that will serve you best if you have brainworms and want to minmax your understanding of the text#but don't have the time to learn a whole new language for it

冷手執到個熱煎䭔！
先排喺經過嘅書店兜個白鴿轉嗰陣，兜到漫畫角落！(笑) 雖然而家都好少睇漫畫，始終對手塚治虫先生啲漫畫仲有啲興趣，而一直以嚟對搵到佢嗰部 《午夜計程車》 系列仍然未完全死嗮心。所以諗緊睇一眼都無妨。
記得第一次見到本地書店有得 《午夜計程車》 賣嘅時候係喺2004 (!🙀) 嗰年。但係多種原因嘅關�� (詳細唔記得嘞)，冇即刻買。等到我終於決定要買嗰陣就畀某人先快咗一步。我當時又冇決心追究落去，抱緊 「有緣無份，得唔到就算」 嘅心態，所以亦都冇即刻向書店幫我定購。等到後悔認真想擁有時，已經過咗些年，所在嘅中文版本早已絕嗮版！後尾亦都有向二手貨市場尋找過，但係唔係根本搵唔到，就係搵唔到一個合理嘅買價。由外國自己購買/進口書，尤其係中文書，係一件非常麻煩，超重皮嘅事呀！最終都係空手收場。
講返而家。因為多年嚟，本地書店都好耐冇進口過手塚先生比較罕見嘅作品，所以我並冇抱緊好大嘅希望會睇到乜好嘢，但係…
等咗足足廿年，願望終於實現嘞！🍾
有啲難以置信…一言難盡！( ꈍᴗꈍ)
呢���係咪可以稱為， 「冷手執到個熱煎䭔」 呢？(笑) 早知會噉，當初就唔使咁拼命東跑西顛搵遍四處喇！(囧…笑)
根據呢套漫畫嘅出版細節嚟睇，出版時期其實係僅僅舊年咋！咁多年嚟一直冇再版嘅蹤影，忽然間又無端端殺出嚟，真係猝不及防呀！又或者…唔通係同舊年所出嘅 《午夜計程車：失蹤集》 特別篇有關？｡◕‿◕｡ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 無論如何，只有感激批准再次出版手塚先生作品中文版嘅嗰個人！(⊃｡•́‿•̀｡)⊃
可惜我想要嘅另外一部作品 《勇者大丹》，始終冇重印，但係可以買得到 《午夜計程車》 已經心滿意足嘞！而且，話唔定出版社而家印緊呢？(笑) 似某人所講過，「希望在明天」 嘛！

I wish people would apply the same level of skepticism they have for AI art to machine translation. Every time I see someone "translate" a work by running it through deepL and punching up the results to sound semi-coherent I become very sad.
